2. Overload Fabinho

The fluid midfield system Arsenal employ poses a significant threat to the hosts’ laboured engine room.

Throughout the campaign, Mikel Arteta has implemented a box midfield shape that sees Oleksandr Zinchenko drift centrally alongside Thomas Partey while Granit Xhaka and Martin Odegaard push up to create a free man behind Liverpool’s first line of pressure.

The resultant middle quartet will test their marking and stamina as the numerical advantage gained – combined with our superior physicality – could prove too much for the restricted mobility of Fabinho. Meanwhile, the Reds have been careless on the ball lately and might rue a lack of industry among their midfield 8s if they surrender possession high up the pitch (an issue Thiago’s potential return may fix).

Whether the extra man is provided by the midfield or a deep-lying forward, Klopp has a tough task to try nullify our approach.
