Arsenal and Liverpool played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Anfield that saw the Gunners’ lead at the summit of the Premier League cut to six points.

Mikel Arteta’s side blew Liverpool off the park in the first 30 minutes as they silenced the home crowd. An early goal to Gabriel Martinelli put Arsenal ahead before the winger turned provider 20 minutes later.

Martinelli lofted a delightful ball into the box that found Gabriel Jesus, who headed home past Alison to give Arsenal a commanding lead.

Mohamed Salah got one back for the hosts before halftime as he scored running in at the back post for an easy tap-in.

The second half was all Liverpool as they dominated proceedings, and with three minutes of normal time remaining, Roberto Firmino headed home to bring Liverpool level.

It was a see-sawing contest that saw both sides give everything, but Arsenal lost ground in the title race.

The game provided plenty of talking points; here they are.

Arsenal’s draw with Liverpool and Manchester City’s 4-1 win over Southampton means the Gunners’ lead is now cut to six points. Oh, and City has a game in hand as well.

With Arsenal due to travel to the Etihad, along with tough fixtures against Newcastle and Chelsea, the Gunners lost valuable ground in the title race.

Some say it’s advantage City, but Pep Guardiola’s side has to win out and hope Arsenal doesn’t do the same to have a shot at yet another title.
