3. Ben White

Few players have been as consistent as Ben White has been since being reconfigured as a right-back. Originally meant as a stopgap until Takehiro Tomiyasu returned, White has made the position his own. He was stable again on Sunday.

The former Leeds man provided the assist for the opener. With that involvement, he has now logged two goals and four assists in the league, an impressive return for someone playing a new position. His overlapping run allowed Odegaard to slide him in and he played the ball perfectly across the six-yard box for Jesus.

He was fairly quiet for the rest of the game in a largely good sense. West Ham rarely tried to target him in transition. They instead drove up the middle or battled against the centre-backs. From a defensive perspective, White was rarely tested. From an attacking perspective, his overlapping runs continued to provide width but his deliveries into the box were early cut out.

In a backline that underwent significant rotation on Sunday, he provided much-needed stability. Hopefully, he can not only continue displaying his defensive solidity but improve his attacking play.

Arsenal underperformed against West Ham. Even the standout players had periods of ineffectiveness despite their moments of brilliance. More impressive performances from every single player will be needed, regardless of where Arsenal finish this season.
