3. Pressure applied to Manchester City

Undeniably, Manchester City are still in the driving seat regarding the Premier League title race, but this result does mean that we have piled the pressure onto Pep Guardiola’s side. The reigning champions’ next league fixture is away against Everton – a fixture in which they have struggled previously.

Making that encounter even more difficult for the Sky Blues is the fact that it is sandwiched between their two-legged Champions League semi-final clash with Real Madrid.

The only thing we can do as a team at this stage is win every game and hope the pressure, or the hectic schedule, get the better of City. So far, against both Chelsea and now Newcastle, the players have done exactly that.
