2. Mason Mount

Mason Mount is a manager’s dream. He’s the kind of player who, like Xhaka, will carry out instructions to the letter, which, given Arteta’s demands, feels like a very good fit.

Mount is also a player in the last year of his contract and off the back of a very poor season due to the shambles that has gone on at Chelsea. The England international reportedly rejected a new deal and has made it clear he is leaving the club this summer. Although, Mauricio Pochettino’s impending arrival could convince Mount to stick around.

Unlike Tielemans, Mount is a player who could be considered an upgrade on Xhaka, with his tireless engine, quick feet, creativity and goal threat all bringing a mix of what Arsenal have and what Arsenal want in that position.

And, like Xhaka, Mount is rarely injured, with his current injury being the longest he has ever been out, showing Arsenal would be signing a player who can withstand the physical demands, along with one with a winning CV.
