3. Granit Xhaka

Oh, Granit.

After a turbulent seven years, Xhaka is set to exit the Emirates on a high after putting together his finest season in Arsenal colours. A new role brought the best out of the Swiss international, who has proven to be Arteta’s Iron Man this term.

His leadership is invaluable, and he’ll leave a big void in the dressing room once he departs. While the player himself hasn’t confirmed his departure, the 30-year-old is set to return to the Bundesliga and team up with Xabi Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen. It’d be a great move for the long-time Gooner, and his transfer may be necessary given the midfield shape-up that’s required in north London ahead of 2023/24.

However, replacing Xhaka’s leadership and character will be no easy task.
