4. Marquinhos

There are several possibilities for a part-exchange deal, but Pervis Estupinan’s presence means Brighton are unlikely to be interested in Kieran Tierney, Reiss Nelson is either extending his contract or departing on a free, while Nicolas Pepe’s time in north London will surely spook the savvy Seagulls.

Thus, an out-the-box possibility for Brighton is Marquinhos, whom Arsenal signed from Brazil last summer. The winger, however, failed to register a Premier League start after an impressive Europa League debut and his loan spell at Norwich during the second half of the season was plagued by inconsistency.

The Brazilian is raw, but there is something there. Although, the vast majority will question whether he’s even close to being ready to compete with the likes of Nelson, Leandro Trossard and, of course, Bukayo Saka for minutes.

Another loan is inevitable for Marquinhos this summer, but maybe, just maybe, Brighton see something in him. The Seagulls love an unassuming South American.
