2. Hope for a City hangover

This is an all-time great team and they could end the campaign as England’s second-ever treble winners should they beat Inter in the Champions League final.

Pep Guardiola’s Citizens only found their groove about two thirds into the 2022/23 season, yet they still won the league at a canter despite Arsenal’s stiff challenge (which ultimately collapsed).

As good as City are, however, they’ll have to do something unprecedented by winning their fourth-straight Premier League title. This hasn’t happened since the competition’s inauguration. Sir Alex Ferguson’s Man Utd twice won three straight, but never four.

In fact, City are attempting to achieve something that no English club has ever done since the establishment of the English Football League in 1888.

Thus, history is on Arsenal’s side and the possibility of a hangover after reaching the sport’s apex in 2022/23 shouldn’t be counted out. City will be favourites to win their fourth straight league title, but it’ll be a mammoth ask with rising threats emerging.
