2. Tenacity

Positives:

Last season, Lavia won 4.9 duels per game, with 4.7 of those being ground duels, showing his ability to win the ball back for his team. Alongside this, he won 2.1 tackles per game and made 1.1 interceptions per game, showing his ability to disrupt in the middle of the park and put his team on the front foot.

Negatives:

Whilst those stats are impressive, Thomas Partey won five ground duels per game for Arsenal, including 3.9 ground duels and won three tackles per game, but made just 0.5 interceptions per game. Lavia’s numbers are extremely impressive, but it’s important to remember the type of player he could potentially be replacing, and there is still a lot of work to be done.
