Arsenal’s full 2023/24 pre-season schedule
Arsenal’s stellar 2022/23 season was built off very early foundations laid in the summer, and Mikel Arteta will want to oversee another productive pre-season heading into a pivotal 2023/24 campaign.
The expectations for this Arsenal team are far greater compared to a year ago. After collapsing at the backend of the previous campaign to sink to fifth and thus miss out on the Champions League, fans were desperate for a top-four finish in 22/23.
The Gunners, however, exceeded these expectations and some as they pushed Man City all the way in the title race.
An excellent summer transfer window combined with an unbeaten pre-season undoubtedly ensured the club entered the campaign with a ton of positive momentum behind them. During their tour of the US, we brushed aside Everton and Orlando City before thumping Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea 4-0. A 6-0 demolishing of Sevilla in the Emirates Cup ensued ahead of their first game of the season against Crystal Palace.
The Gunners will open up 2023/24 at home to Nottingham Forest on 12 August, but the Gunners have a busy pre-season schedule to get through in preparation for the new season.
Arsenal’s full 2023/24 pre-season schedule
- July 13 – Nurnberg vs Arsenal (18:00 KO @ Max-Morlock-Stadion, Nuremburg)
- July 20 – MLS All-Stars vs Arsenal (01:30 KO @ Audi Field, Washington DC)
- July 22 – Arsenal vs Man Utd (22:00 BST @ MetLife Stadium, New York)
- July 26 – Arsenal vs Barcelona (TBC @ SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles)
- August 2 – Arsenal vs AS Monaco (18:00 KO @ Emirates Stadium)
- August 6 – Arsenal vs Man City (16:00 KO @ Wembley Stadium)
There are plenty of similarities between this pre-season schedule and last year’s. Before heading out for another tour of the States, we’ll face Nurnberg in Germany on 13 July. Gabriel Jesus made his non-competitive debut for the club and starred in an entertaining 5-3 triumph.
Arteta’s men then make the trip across the pond where they’ll play three games on both the East and West Coasts. They’ll take on Wayne Rooney’s MLS All-Stars and Man Utd before flying across the country to conclude the tour with a friendly against Barcelona in LA.
Their participation in this year’s Community Shield, the curtain-raiser for the new season, means the Emirates Cup has been moved to midweek where they’ll face Monaco. Four days later, the Gunners face Man City at Wembley with a minor piece of silverware on the line.
