2. Fabio Vieira

Arsenal pulled a rabbit out of the hat to sign Portuguese playmaker Fabio Vieira from Porto last summer, and supporters were excited about what he could provide following a mightily productive 2021/22 campaign.

However, the slight midfielder found it tough in year one and was rarely called upon in crunch time. There were bright moments and impressive performances, sure, but these arrived in the early stages of the Europa League. It was a forgettable debut campaign, overall.

However, Vieira was undoubtedly hindered by a foot injury which meant he missed all of pre-season after joining the club. This will be his first for the club, and he needs to make his mark sooner rather than later otherwise he could be left behind.

He’ll undoubtedly receive ample opportunities to impress before the start of the competitive campaign.
