2. Cedric Soares

The veteran defender is supposedly a respected member of the dressing room and an important leader in the eyes of the manager. Cedric has previously spoken of his desire to return to Arsenal and fight for his place next season, but his pathway to minutes has been further obscured by Timber.

With Timber capable of playing across the back four, Cedric is now fourth in the right-back depth chart behind the Dutchman, Ben White, and Takehiro Tomiyasu. He might get a run out in the Carabao Cup next season, but that’s about it.

The former Southampton man spent the second half of last season out on loan at Fulham, who he won’t be joining permanently this summer, but Arsenal are nonetheless looking for “potential exit routes” for the 31-year-old.
