Declan Rice’s move to Arsenal is edging closer as terms have been agreed upon, with former England international Danny Murphy stating Rice can’t wait to get to the club.

The 24-year-old is moving ever closer to securing a move from West Ham to Arsenal after both clubs reached an agreement earlier this week. The midfielder is set to undergo a medical on Friday.

With the midfielder now going over the finer details of the move, it won’t be too long before we see Rice in an Arsenal shirt.

Rice was the Gunners’ number one target this summer, and being so close to making the move official, the English international is likely feeling all kinds of emotions.

One of them is excitement. Former Liverpool midfielder Murphy was speaking on FIVE and stated that he ran into Rice at the weekend and revealed that the midfielder can’t wait to get started at Arsenal.

"“I’ve got to say, it’s worth saying I saw Dec on Sunday at the cafe by mine. He was outside, I popped out to see him,” Murphy said on FIVE. “And we were chatting, and he was buzzing. He couldn’t wait to get to Arsenal. He said Arteta was magic when he met him.”"

There is no doubt a willingness for Rice to want to get down to business sooner rather than later with his new club, as some Arsenal players are already back from their offseason holidays.

While we aren’t sure when Rice can be expected to begin training with Arsenal, there is a thought it will still be a few weeks away.

Nevertheless, hearing something so positive from Rice about coming to the club will no doubt fill Arsenal fans’ hearts with joy, and he will likely become a crowd favourite from the first time he steps onto the pitch.

With both Rice and Jurrien Timber’s moves expected to be wrapped up rather quickly, Arsenal’s focus should now switch to outgoings before any further incomings occur.

Things have moved swiftly over the last few days, with Arsenal getting two massive deals over the line.

Everything is coming up Arsenal.
