A hectic start to the summer transfer window has piqued the interests of Gooners ahead of the club’s pre-season tour to the US.

Arsenal have been incredibly active in the market and look to be building a squad capable of potentially usurping Manchester City as Premier League champions. Titles aren’t won in July, however.

It’s not just the actual Premier League managers putting in the groundwork for a successful 2023/24 campaign at this early stage. The mightily popular Fantasy Premier League opened its doors for the new season at the start of the month, with users now able to cultivate their squads after the prices of several key players across the division were gradually revealed.

Arsenal’s brilliant 2022/23 and outlook for 2023/24 means FPL managers are bound to target a few Gooners to spearhead them to fantasy glory. However, you’re limited to just three players from a single team.

1. Gabriel

Arsenal’s backline showed serious signs of improvement during the first half of the season before their vulnerabilities manifested after the World Cup break. They strangely struggled to keep clean sheets at home, and their woes worsened once William Saliba was lost for the season.

Through it all, though, Gabriel remained an imperious rock amid his most impressive campaign for the Gunners.

Taking into account the wealth of attacking options at Arsenal’s disposal, it’s unlikely that FPL managers will want to take two Gooner defenders. Gabriel should be your pick. Aaron Ramsdale will undoubtedly tempt many, but the Brazilian, for the second season running, proved to be a reliable FPL asset. He made 38 league starts and record 146 points (as he did in 2021/22).

The defender, who’s priced at £5.0m which is the same as Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko but cheaper than Ben White (£5.5m), is handy in the opposition’s box, and he only picked up five yellow cards last season. For me, Gabriel and Ramsdale are the two most stable and reliable FPL assets. Zinchenko missed a few games last season and isn’t a massive contributor in the final third, White’s place may be under threat by Jurrien Timber, while Saliba’s heading into the new season following a lengthy injury layoff.
