2. Martin Odegaard

Odegaard really messed me around last season. The Arsenal skipper seemed to blossom when he took him out of my FPL side, but struggle when he was included.

Nevertheless, I’m not blaming the Nordic playmaker, it must’ve been my erroneous judgement as he recorded the most points out of any Arsenal player last season (212).

Crucial to his points haul was his 15 goals and he developed a more ruthless streak in front of goal. Odegaard also bagged eight assists.

The beating heart of Arteta’s Arsenal, Odegaard’s availability has been a major positive and he should start the overwhelming majority of Premier League games next season should he remain injury-free. Considering his output last season, there are very few superior midfield options for £8.5m.
