Arsenal pushed Manchester City all the way for the Premier League title last season before falling short in the final few matchdays.

Not many gave the Gunners hope of lifting the league title, as the top four was the aim at the beginning of the season. But despite falling short to City, the campaign was an overwhelming success, and Arsenal is now back sitting at the big dog table in the Premier League.

The summer transfer window was looming as a critical one for Mikel Arteta and the Arsenal hierarchy, and thus far, they have taken it seriously. Both Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber deals are expected to be announced soon, with the club not wasting time getting its targets through the doors.

Arsenal is now to be considered a genuine title threat to Manchester City, and for some, the club has moved above and beyond Manchester United, Chelsea, and potentially Liverpool in the pecking order.

With Champions League football now on the calendar for next season, the club’s squad is going to be tested again. Thus far, aside from Granit Xhaka, no significant outgoings have occurred, and we imagine that this will be the main focus for the next couple of weeks.

We imagine that most Arsenal fans would be happy with a first Premier League title since 2004, to begin with, and based on last season and the current transfer dealings, the Gunners will again be up to their eyeballs in the title race.
