Midfielders

Thomas Partey (DM) – 6/10 – It was a sloppy opening ten minutes from Partey, but the Ghanaian grew into the contest before his half-time withdrawal.

Leandro Trossard (CM) – 7/10 – I’ve been a big advocate for Trossard’s utilisation in midfield, and it bore fruit in Germany. The Belgian was technically secure throughout, combining well with those around him. Didn’t miss a beat.

Fabio Vieira (CM) – 5/10 – Thrust into the XI due to a late injury picked up by Martin Odegaard, Vieira combined well at times down the right, but he again didn’t do enough to assert himself in the contest.
