Arsenal ended its second US Tour game with a 2-0 defeat to Manchester United. First-half goals from Bruno Fernandes and Sancho were enough to give United the win.

It was always going to be interesting to see if Arsenal could maintain the level of play they showed against the MLS All-Stars…turns out they couldn’t.

In what was a rather feisty preseason encounter, Arsenal simply couldn’t get going, and two first-half mistakes led to United goals.

Aaron Ramsdale will feel he could have done better with Bruno Fernandes’ shot, and Gabriel’s miskick on the halfway line allowed Sancho through on goal, and he made the most of his opportunity.

Then Gabriel’s miskick on halfway went completely wrong and allowed Sancho in, and he finished well. Both could have been avoided, but it is what preseason is about.

Better to have them happen now than in the regular season, but those two mistakes that led to goals were the difference in the game.
