Midfielders

Thomas Partey (DM) – 8/10 – Partey was Arsenal’s best player in the opening period, certainly with the ball. Distribution was excellent. Monaco’s midfield and the movement of their playmakers did trouble the Ghanaian, though.

Declan Rice (CM) – 5.5/10 – Still finding his feet in the Granit Xhaka role. Got in behind Monaco’s defence a couple of times, but couldn’t take full advantage. Was efficient without being influential.

Emile Smith Rowe (CM) – 5/10 – Started brightly as he buzzed around between the lines. However, Smith Rowe particularly struggled in the defensive phase with Monaco’s third-man runs from midfield proving tricky to contain.
