3. Who starts at left-back?

Jurrien Timber was going to be a great addition to the squad, so it was painful to lose him for what will likely be the season. Coincidentally, when he was subbed off in the second half, Arsenal’s play dropped off somewhat. I’m not saying he was the sole reason, but there certainly was a drop-off from the left-back position when Takehiro Tomiyasu entered the fray. That’s not a knock on the Japanese international because he is playing out of position.

I think it will be interesting to see who gets the nod. The manager certainly left an opening for Oleksandr Zinchenko to return, but I can’t see him starting if he is fit. Perhaps he comes on late to try to get in form to play a full 90. So it will most likely be between Kieren Tierney and Jakub Kiwior.

Tierney has a wealth of experience, but Kiwior is better suited to the inverted role.
