4. Other potential changes to the starting XI

Many people were surprised at Gabriel’s omission from the starting XI with Thomas Partey slotting into the inverted right-back position last Saturday.

Does Arteta go with a similar lineup as he did versus Forest or do we see the traditional back four with William Saliba and Gabriel in the middle? If so, where does that leave Thomas Partey and Kai Havertz? For the two of them, those might be questions that we ask all season.

I don’t see a change to the front three as each of them were crucial to Arsenal’s 2-0 first-half lead last time out. Poor Leandro Trossard is set for another super-sub role.
