3. Declan Rice was worth every penny

In the first five matches of the season, Declan Rice has probably been Arsenal’s best player.

The English international has been all over the midfield; in the build-up, defending, and even scoring a goal. He is the anchor of Arteta’s midfield and Sunday was no different. Everton were defending most of the match, and any chance they had trying to break was contained by Rice, who relentlessly recovered possession in the middle of the park.

The money in football is astounding, but all things considered, Arsenal paid the price and brought in one of the best midfielders in the world. Rice is exactly who we thought he was: a superstar.
