Arsenal are supposed to be challenging Man City for a Premier League title, but after Sunday afternoon, it does not look likely.

The Gunners drew with their bitter rivals despite leading twice. The hosts were sloppy with the ball. They did not convert their chances and ultimately split points with a side that, on paper, they are better than. But none of that matters. Arsenal left the Emirates with a draw and are already four points adrift of an imperious City outfit.

3 takeaways from Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham

Here are three takeaways from the draw with Spurs.

Arsenal are yet to put in a complete performance this season in the Premier League which leaves them off the pace at the summit. Sure, it’s a long season and many things can happen, but at the moment, Arsenal do not look like the team that will challenge Man City. They aren’t creating enough chances and haven’t exactly been efficient in the final third. Something’s off.

While I love Gabriel Jesus’ work rate and press on the wing, he had two magnificent chances in the match that he did not convert. In big matches those are critical. Meanwhile, Spurs’ Son converted twice when he got a sight of David Raya’s goal.

City are a well-oiled machine with maybe the greatest manager of all time. They are cruising even without the services of Kevin de Bruyne. That is scary for the rest of the league.
