3. City drought ended in stunning fashion

Eight years. That’s how long it had been since Arsenal took three points off City, and what a way to do it! The Gunners have long been City’s easybeats but since Mikel Arteta has taken over, the gap has been closing slowly.

Now, the mental fortitude that the Gunners will get from this performance, which was without Bukayo Saka as well, is enormous.

Arsenal can match it with the best and the win was great for so many reasons, but none more important that the Gunners showed they are true contenders for the title this season.
