Arsenal are back in Champions League action on Tuesday night as they travel to La Liga outfit Sevilla.

The Gunners returned from the October international break laden with rust as they fell to a 2-0 deficit at Chelsea on Saturday. But, Mikel Arteta’s resilient outfit fought back in the latter stages of the contest to draw 2-2 as they preserved their unbeaten start to the Premier League season.

However, Arsenal must improve swiftly if they’re to depart Seville with anything more than a point on Tuesday. After falling to defeat at Lens on Matchday 2, Arteta’s side can ill afford to lose here in what’s poised to be a tight Group B.

Sevilla, who parted ways with Jose Luis Mendilibar before the break, have collected two points from their opening two group games and head into this contest having picked up a draw against Real Madrid at the weekend.

Sevilla team news

New manager Diego Alonso has a few injury concerns heading into this one. Sevilla are set to be without Marcao, Mariano Diaz, and Kike Salas due to various knocks on Tuesday.

Sergio Ramos will start at the heart of the defence, while Ivan Rakitic will dazzle in the middle of the park. Gooners could also be treated to a familiar face in Erik Lamela, who departed Tottenham for Seville in 2021.

Arsenal team news

Arteta doesn’t have any fresh injury concerns heading into Tuesday’s game, but the boss is expected to make a couple of changes to Saturday’s team.

Thomas Partey could come in for Jorginho at the base of midfield, while Takehiro Tomiyasu deserves a start in place of Oleksandr Zinchenko. Leandro Trossard also put his name in the hat for a return to the starting XI after netting the equaliser at Stamford Bridge.

Then there’s the goalkeeper question: will Arteta revert to Aaron Ramsdale or stick with David Raya?

Sevilla vs Arsenal prediction

Arsenal were dire on Saturday but a resilient conclusion saw them walk away with a point. Arteta will hope they can take that momentum into Tuesday’s game, but Sevilla won’t make life easy.

The Spaniards have been emboldened by Alonso’s arrival and were impressive against Real Madrid on Saturday. They’re soundly balanced and capable of hurting the visitors, who’ll seek to control and dominate Tuesday’s bout.

The hosts have got a knack for picking up draws, and I think they could secure another on Tuesday. A point wouldn’t be a disaster for the Gunners despite their Matchday 2 defeat.

Prediction: Sevilla 1-1 Arsenal
