Arsenal secured a 2-1 win over Sevilla in its Champions League Group Stage match, with Gabriel Jesus starring in Seville.

Aesthetics count for little when you win, and for Arsenal, its Champions League match against Sevilla wasn’t easy on the eye, but the Gunners got the all-important win they came for.

In trying conditions, the first half looked like it would end with both sides struggling to find the net…until Gabriel Jesus’ moment of magic.

His turn and pass near the halfway line that sent fellow Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli through was sublime, and Martinelli rounded the keeper and slotted home into an empty net.

Shortly after halftime, Jesus got in on the goal-scoring action, with his superb curling effort finding its way past Orjan Nyland in the Sevilla goal.

But the hosts replied within minutes as Nemanja Gudelj’s header halved the deficit. But for all the home side’s huffing and puffing, the Gunners escaped with a vital 2-1 win and now top Group B.

The game provided plenty of talking points; here they are.

His turn and pass for Martinelli was fluid and spectacular, and his goal after halftime was placed to perfection.

Some players are built for the big stage, and Jesus showed that when the lights are bright, he is as comfortable as they come.
