Midfielders

Jorginho (DM) – 6/10 – Is still completely lost when asked to defend the counter, but his performance was more than serviceable while Arsenal managed the contest in the first half.

Declan Rice (CM) – 7.5/10 – Rice’s influence diminished in the second half, but he was Arsenal’s standout performer in the opening period.

Kai Havertz (CM) – 6.5/10 – Was keen to impress, that’s for sure. Threw himself around St. James’ Park in a bid to disrupt the hosts. Some of his challenges were ill-advised, but this was arguably Havertz’s brightest Premier League performance in an Arsenal shirt.
