Arsenal cruised to a 2-0 Champions League win over Sevilla on Wednesday night, but there are concerns over Bukayo Saka’s ankle.
With Diego Alonso deploying a fairly cautious starting XI that lacked thrust in attack, Arsenal were able to assert their dominance in the first half and it was only a matter of time before they took the lead. They did so through Leandro Trossard, who tapped home from close range following a sweeping move that was started by an excellent Jorginho pass.

Sevilla didn’t enjoy their first spell of sustained possession until the hour mark, and it was after this sequence when they found themselves 2-0 behind. Bukayo Saka finished smartly in transition.
Alonso eventually made some necessary changes in a bid to ignite Sevilla’s tepid display, but the visitors were never going to overcome their two-goal deficit.
There was little action after Arsenal doubled their lead as the hosts sauntered to their second home win in Group B. The Gunners are now in a very strong position to progress, although PSV’s victory over Lens means they’ll have to wait until Matchday 5 to officially book their place in the round of 16 (hopefully).
Arsenal 2-0 Sevilla player ratings
Here are the Arsenal player ratings from Wednesday night’s win.

Goalkeeper & Defenders
David Raya (GK) – 6/10 – I mean, what is there to talk about here? First save was made in the 97th minute.
Ben White (RB) – 6/10 – A quiet outing for White after a pair of poor displays last week. Would love him to be braver on the overlap.
William Saliba (CB) – 6.5/10 – Was caught out on one occasion with a ball in behind, but Saliba otherwise had no issues dealing with Youssef En-Nesyri. Made an excellent recovery challenge in the first half.
Gabriel (CB) – 6/10 – Not much to discuss here, Gabriel got through Wednesday’s clash without issue.
Takehiro Tomiyasu (LB) – 6.5/10 – Did a good job inverting into midfield and using both feet to access the brilliant Martinelli. Withdrawn at half-time.
