A flat Arsenal side were outclassed by Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night as they fell to a 1-0 defeat in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie.

Ousmane Dembele netted what turned out to be the winning goal just four minutes in, and his side followed that up by reducing the Gunners to just a couple of moments in the final third. Arsenal rallied on either side of half-time, but Gianluigi Donnarumma stood firm when called upon and the visitors expertly managed the end of the contest.

It's safe to say the whole Arsenal team found it difficult to come up against the dominant force of PSG, but there were three players that struggled most in the defeat to the French champions.

Martin Odegaard really struggled to have a creative impact against PSG and failed to lead his team by example.

The skipper was contained really well by the Parisians and was rarely successful in any midfield battles, losing five of eight duels and also conceding possession 13 times. He was limited to creating just one chance and completed only one of five attempted dribbles.

Even when presented the opportunity to break away from the dominance of PSG and take some control, Odegaard still failed to make a difference. His end product was very poor, playing just one accurate cross into the box and also making only one pass into the final third.

It really wasn't the greatest of performances from Odegaard as PSG managed to contain him with ease while his overall creativity was not up to scratch. He severely struggled throughout the defeat.
