Positive #2: Composed at the back

The absence of Gabriel Magalhaes and Riccardo Calafiori from the Arsenal starting XI caused concern among fans ahead of kick off but it wasn't much to worry about. Their replacements Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko helped their fellow defenders keep a composed back line.

Arsenal's defence limited United to very little, allowing the visitors just five shots and an xG of 0.35.

It was a performance that showed just how calm and composed the Gunners can be at the back. Despite their worrying lack of clean sheets in recent weeks, the likes of William Saliba and company are still very capable of dominating opposition attackers.

Negative #2: United did cause problems

While they did not create all that much, Man United did cause Arsenal some problems on Wednesday evening, especially in the early stages.

The Red Devils stretched the Gunners' backline at times as they focused on attacking via their wider players. It was not to much avail however as Arsenal managed to limit the visitors to just six touches in their box.

United causing some issues will still raise concerns for Mikel Arteta but he will be glad his side managed to seal the win.
