Positive #3: Minutes for Nwaneri and Odegaard
Both youngster Ethan Nwaneri and returning captain Martin Odegaard came off the bench in the final minutes for Arsenal as they both picked up some valuable playing time.
Nwaneri, who was making his Champions League debut, had a really positive cameo and looked bright on the ball, causing some problems for Inter. The academy graduate was not far off scoring a stunning equaliser when he turned his marker to unleash an effort that went just over the bar.
Odegaard's return was also a massive positive for Arsenal as he stepped onto a pitch for the side for the first time since August. Seeing the club captain return will bring great joy to fans, especially considering he has got minutes in before this weekend's crucial clash at Chelsea.
Negative #3: Hesitant with substitutions
Mikel Arteta seemed hesitant to make substitutions during the defeat to Inter. He kept the likes of Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz on the pitch until late in the second-half despite neither performing particularly well.
The late introduction of Nwaneri and the youngster's subsequent performance showed how subs have the potential to impact and change games so the decisions probably should have been made sooner.
Arteta's hesitation to make changes is by no means new and it was blatantly obvious last night that were changes that needed to made but just weren't. The Spaniard needs to seriously consider how much a substitute can change a game and must look to implement this from now on.
