2. Wealth of experience

Since first breaking into the Athletic Bilbao team during the 2016/17 season, Kepa has gained plenty of experience playing in competitions of the highest level in Europe. He made 67 appearances in La Liga, has played 140 times in the Premier League and appeared in 21 Champions League matches.
This will come in handy to Arsenal, who would now have a heavily experienced goalkeeper to call upon. Previous backups such as Matt Turner and Alex Runarsson hadn't had enough involvement in top level football to provide reliable cover for their superiors, but the Gunners won't have that issue with Kepa.
David Raya is firmly cemented as the Gunners' number one, but his fellow Spaniard is said to be prepared to fight for his place between the sticks. If he underperforms or suffers an injury, Arteta will now have a player with a wealth of experience to call upon when needed. That will be a welcome sight to fans in an era of football where plenty of top sides have a brilliant backup 'keeper to turn to.
