2. Gabriel Martinelli

Martinelli had all game to remind onlookers what a difference he can make. Mission accomplished after several rapid breaks forward, Timothy Castagne had next to no chance to track.
Few players can stay with Martinelli once he turns on the jets. Something the Brazilian did for fun against Fulham.

This was close to vintage Martinelli. Direct, sudden and purposeful football. All that was missing was a goal, something denied by the linesman's flag late on, following a smart link-up with skipper Martin Odegaard.
While the timing was just a little off, this connection was a great illustration of what Martinelli can be for this team. A pacy and varied mover who will punish high lines and provide a roving target for Arsenal's pass-master in the middle.
The middle is still somewhere Martinelli should be given an extended trial. Yet, the 23-year-old's angled runs are perfect for dragging defenders into uncomfortable areas and creating space for other Arsenal forwards to profit.
That's something worth remembering. Martinelli's still only 23. The potential to be on a Saka-like level is still there, if only he can stay fit and receive more of the right supply.
Keeping faith in Martinelli will be important in this key moment. He's somebody who can make a difference in Europe.
So can Arsenal's fledgling flair player.
