Essentially playing the Martin Odegaard right number eight role, Declan Rice put in a good performance on Saturday evening as he caused trouble for Brighton from the midfield.

The England international helped put pressure on the Seagulls defence as he drifted up the pitch when his side were both in and out of possession. He got in a good position for his side's goal, making a good run alongside Nwaneri to create another option but was not ultimately used.

Rice dropped back when required to help out in defence, winning a number of duels and making several recoveries. His set piece deliveries were subpar compared to his typical standard but it was overall a standout performance from Rice.
