Gabriel put in a monstrous performance in defence, helping keep the threat of Tottenham's attack to a minimum.

He made a great last-ditch tackle to deny Dominic Solanke a certain goal to open proceedings. The Brazilian continued to be a menace for the Spurs striker, putting in a similar challenge late in the second-half and also thwarting him with a good block.

The immense danger he poses from corners was on show once again when his pressure on Radu Dragusin led to the Romanian's clearance bouncing into Solanke who put the ball into his own net for the equaliser. Gabriel showed real leadership towards the end of the game, calling for the fans to maintain an intimidating atmosphere.
