Back in his natural midfield spot after a number of impressive showings as the makeshift striker, Mikel Merino had a real impact in the middle of the park.

The Spaniard didn't let starting in a deeper position prevent him from helping out in attack as he made sure to keep his team high up the pitch on a number of occasions. He was constantly ready to win back possession in and around the Ipswich area to keep his side's attacking sequences alive.

Merino didn't get on the scoresheet but he still got his involvement, playing a brilliant Dennis Bergkamp-esque flick for Gabriel Martinelli to run onto and tap in for the second goal. He showed how much he can continue to offer this Gunners team, whether that be in midfield or at striker.
