Starting at the base of midfield against, Thomas Partey did his job superbly well and contributed at both ends of the pitch.

The Ghanaian dominated his opposite numbers brilliantly, winning five duels and two tackles during the contest. He dealt with any pressure from City well and helped keep their threat through the middle to a minimum.

Partey broke up the play superbly and cut open the City team with some great passes. He restored his side's lead when he intercepted a Phil Foden pass before firing a deflected effort from long range into the back of the net.
