At just 18 years old and starting against Real Madrid, Myles Lewis-Skelly had a potentially long night ahead as he came up against the troublesome Rodrygo and Federico Valverde, but he did not disappoint.

The youngster was on hand to defend Madrid's attacks and kickstart progressive moves for his side. He played a number of good forward passes that allowed his teammates to break into the box and also stepped up at the back to keep Rodrygo from causing too many issues.

Lewis-Skelly's best moment came late in the second half when he latched onto a pass from Leandro Trossard to pull it back for Mikel Merino, who found the bottom corner with a neat first-time effort. Some felt the Hale End graduate should have been dropped for the game but Lewis-Skelly silenced any critics with a brilliant performance against Madrid.
