2. Ethan Nwaneri

Following a string of impressive performances in Asia, Ethan Nwaneri started for Arsenal once again and impressed in a midfield role.

He looked promising whenever he received the ball and caused plenty of problems for Villarreal with his tricky feet, completing five dribbles, the most of any player on the pitch. Nwaneri also played Saka into the box with a well-executed pass.

While he failed to cause too many issues with his tame set piece deliveries, Nwaneri certainly stood out against Villarreal. His impressive display would have surely caught the eye of Arteta and provided him with some sort of a dilemma.
