Arsenal opened their Premier League campaign with a narrow 1-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners' performance was far below the expectations of many, but secured the victory in familiar fashion. Less than 15 minutes into the tie, Declan Rice caused problems for the United defence with a good corner delivery, allowing Riccardo Calafiori to head in the eventual winner from close range.

While it wasn't the most spectacular showing from Mikel Arteta's side, there were a few good individual performances throughout the team, with three players standing out.

Starting the season as Arsenal's outright number one goalkeeper, David Raya put on a show at Old Trafford, playing a crucial part in his side's slender victory.

The Spaniard looked slightly shaky in the early stages and was almost caught on the ball by Matheus Cunha, but was fortunate to be able to clear. He soon grew into the game and came to his side's rescue when he made a world-class stop to deny Cunha an equaliser from a tight angle.

With the Gunners under substantial pressure in the second-half, Raya's heroics continued as the tie went on. He made another outstanding save, showing great reflexes to spring to his left and keep out a goal-bound header by Bryan Mbeumo. As United maintained the momentum, he dealt with corners and crosses well in the final stages to cap off a standout performance.
