Arsenal went five points clear at the top of the Premier League with a 2-0 win over London rivals Brentford as they put in a professional performance to brush the Bees aside.
The Gunners took the lead through makeshift striker Mikel Merino, who rose highest to meet Ben White's teasing cross and head past Caoimhin Kelleher. It was a tense game at times with the visitors putting pressure on, but Mikel Arteta's side sealed the victory through Bukayo Saka when he fired in during stoppage time.
While it was an all-round top team performance from Arsenal, there were three players that stood out and shined among the rest.
1. Ben White

Making his first league start since the opening day of the season, White took Jurrien Timber's place at right back to offer the Dutchman some respite and it looked as if he had never been gone as he put on a brilliant display.
His influence was felt all over the pitch and his best moment came when he assisted Merino for the opening goal. Picking up the ball from Noni Madueke, he drifted in down the right side before sending a perfect cross into the box for the Spaniard to head in.
He continued to cause problems with his running down the right flank, but he didn't forget to do his defensive job. Winning tackles and duels, he did well to keep the likes of Kevin Schade and Rico Henry quiet for most of the night.
It will be a hard job to displace Timber, but White has certainly made a case for himself to return to the starting XI with a standout showing against the Bees.
2. Mikel Merino

Arteta made the bold decision not to give the returning Viktor Gyökeres a start in order to keep Merino up front and the makeshift striker rewarded his manager's confidence with another outstanding performance.
He grabbed the opener to net his 10th Premier League goal for Arsenal, showing his ability to be the perfect target man for his side, and remained a source of trouble for the Brentford backline for much of the game.
Having operated as a false nine in recent weeks, he continued to play that role as he dropped back often to help his teammates defend. He even grabbed an assist late on when he set Bukayo Saka up for the second goal.
Merino is looking completely faultless as he leads the line for the Gunners and after another great display, fans may even question if Arteta decides to drop his namesake.
3. Noni Madueke

Starting on the right wing in place of Saka, Noni Madueke continued his impressive form for Arsenal, silencing the doubters who constantly questioned why he was brought to the Emirates from Chelsea in the summer.
He linked up well with White and even played a part in the opening goal as he found his fellow Englishman before he set Merino up. He then went close to finding the back of the net himself when he saw an effort saved before having a strike blocked to go out for a corner.
His night was brought to an end just after the hour mark when he was replaced by Saka, but nothing can be taken away from him as he put in another good performance on the wing. Madueke is even making a case to be a starter for the Gunners.
