2. Midfield joy and woe

There is both a positive and a negative in the midfield department for Arsenal ahead of tonight's game against Inter.

Martin Odegaard returned to full training yesterday and subsequently flew with the squad to Italy. Mikel Arteta confirmed in his press conference that his captain may see a return to action tonight.

Fellow midfielder Declan Rice did not travel, however, after picking up a knock against Newcastle. The return of Odegaard has acted as a step forward for the Gunners but Rice's absence has put them a step back. Arsenal will struggle without the England international tonight but also have a good chance to give their skipper some returning minutes.
