Arsenal come up against Bayern Munich in the Champions League this evening as they look to continue their winning start to their European campaign.

The Gunners secured a convincing win over north London rivals Tottenham last time out as a Leandro Trossard goal and Eberechi Eze's hat-trick fired them to a superb 4-1 win at the Emirates Stadium.

It will be a huge clash for Mikel Arteta's side and it has potential to be their biggest test this season and there are three key talking points ahead of their encounter with Bayern.

Both Arsenal and Bayern Munich have enjoyed superb starts to their respective Champions League campaigns, each winning their opening four games to be the top two of the league phase table.

That makes tonight's game a blockbuster clash as arguably the competition's best two teams go head-to-head to take themselves one step closer to securing qualification for the knockout stages.

It will be an incredibly exciting game for both sets of supporters and neutrals as it is an incredibly difficult tie to call. The Gunners and Bayern have potential to constantly cancel each other out and if one side comes out on top, it will be by a tight margin.

2. Selection dilemmas

Most would be expecting Arteta to field an unchanged side to the one that humiliated Spurs just three days ago, but recent revelations on the injury front have slightly thrown a spanner in the works.

While there are no new injuries for the Spaniard to worry about, he does have three returning players to now choose from. Both Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli are in contention to start the match while captain Martin Ødegaard could be involved after returning to training.

Despite the new options, it is likely Arteta names the same lineup from Sunday, but he will have some choices to make if certain players aren't performing well. With his squad depth improving once again, this evening's game against Bayern will be the beginning of selection dilemmas for the Gunners boss.

3. The real defensive test

As Arsenal have cruelly learned over the years, Bayern pose a real threat in front of goal and tonight's clash will be no different.

The Bundesliga side have been ruthless in attack so far this season, scoring 64 goals in all competitions and 14 in four Champions League games. As a result, they will arguably be the Gunners' first real defensive test of the campaign.

Arsenal's brilliant defence has been crucial to their success and they will be confident they can hold off the Bayern attack. However, with the Bavarians in such outstanding form and their superiority in the head-to-head, things could be tough for Arteta's side this evening.
