3. Certain players must impress

Multiple squad players will be called upon to face Preston and there are a certain few that must take the chance to impress in order to kickstart their respective seasons.

Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling have both had limited game time and with starts likely for both, they must impress Mikel Arteta tonight. The pair have not looked overly brilliant when they have played so this evening's game acts as a good opportunity for them both.

Oleksandr Zinchenko has also had limited game time, largely due to injury, and has been kept on the bench in the last three games. Arteta has chosen to bring Myles Lewis-Skelly on instead of the Ukranian so this may suggest a change in the pecking order. As a result, Zinchenko must take this chance to impress and reassert his worth to his manager.
