3 talking points ahead of West Ham vs Arsenal
- Gunners take on London rivals West Ham
- Can build on recent form to start run
- Hammers could cause a shock
Arsenal travel across London to face rivals West Ham on Saturday evening as they look to build on their recent improvement in form.
The Gunners were victorious in their last outing as they thumped Sporting CP 5-1 in the Champions League. Goals from Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Magalhaes, Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard ensured Mikel Arteta's side left Lisbon with three points. Arsenal also picked up a win last time out in the Premier League, beating Nottingham Forest 3-0 courtesy of goals by Saka, Thomas Partey and Ethan Nwaneri.
As Arsenal look to get the better of a rival, there are three key talking points ahead of this cross-capital clash.
1. Forming a winning run
Arsenal are just about still in the Premier League title race and that is largely thanks to their 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest last weekend. The victory put the Gunners somewhat back on track in the hunt for the league title but there is still so much more work to do.
Their midweek win at Sporting will have improved morale and built momentum, giving the Gunners a chance to build on their last two victories in order to form a winning run, starting with the trip to West Ham.
A win at London Stadium is crucial for Arsenal to build a winning run otherwise their previous two victories will be very much in vain. It also presents Mikel Arteta's side with an excellent chance to climb up the table with the top two of Liverpool and Manchester City facing off on Sunday.
