3 talking points ahead of West Ham vs Arsenal
- Gunners take on London rivals West Ham
- Can build on recent form to start run
- Hammers could cause a shock
3. Hammers can cause a shock
West Ham have had a mixed start to the season and are currently sat in 14th. Julen Lopetegui has come under scrutiny for how his side have performed under his leadership.
Although they have not enjoyed the greatest start, the Hammers have produced a couple of shocks so far this season. They beat Manchester United 2-1 in October and upset St James' Park in their last outing. West Ham defeated Newcastle 2-0, thanks to goals from Tomas Soucek and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Arsenal will be fully aware the Hammers can cause a shock as they have previously succumbed to them. A 2-0 home defeat last season put a huge dent in the Gunners' title hopes, something they will not want to repeat this time around. Despite their inconsistency, West Ham will know they can shock a big side like Arsenal so Mikel Arteta will have to ensure his side are not complacent.
