2. Antoine Semenyo (AFC Bournemouth)

Perhaps Mikel Arteta will instead resort to the old reliable – i.e. some Premier League experience – in this ‘win now’ era and, thus, Antoine Semenyo could be a lead contender.
Rumour has it that the Ghanaian forward might move this summer after a fine year at Bournemouth under Andoni Iraola. He ticks the same boxes as other targets (e.g. quick, strong on both feet) though he brings the added bonus of clean ball-striking, an ability which helped him score more league goals (11) than any Arsenal player last term – if that is much of an accolade.
Semenyo also does a lot of defensive work and can operate anywhere in the attack (big positives for an Arteta signing), while his time on the south coast means he would be ready to hit the ground running in north London.
A sizeable £70m fee could halt our advance but, if we ask the question, maybe a compromise can be found.
