5. Samu Aghehowa (FC Porto)

Our list will end on the Iberian coast and cite one of the brightest attacking prospects in European football – young Samu Aghehowa of FC Porto.
Another who last moved in 2024, Aghehowa should nevertheless rank high on the Arsenal target list after a brilliant debut season in Portugal. The 20-year-old has scored 14 goals in 22 league games as well as registering six in nine Europa League matches, with his sharp finishing and incredible strength proving difficult for opponents to contain.
His talent drew interest from Chelsea last year and, though that move did not materialise, his efforts at the Estadio do Dragao suggest he is ready to shine on the biggest stage. As a title contender and a UCL club, Arsenal can give him that chance.
Aghehowa is only 20 and his limited top-level exposure – alongside a need to develop further – could understandably make Arteta opt against him. But he seems to boast huge potential and is showing at Porto that he can deliver the goods now too.
Arsenal passed up on a raw Isak back in 2022; maybe the risk is sometimes worth it.
