4. Cesc Fabregas vs Aston Villa (December 2009)

Rather annoyingly, Arsenal enjoyed battling for the league title in the late 2000s but could never go all the way. That was the case once again when they faced Aston Villa at Emirates Stadium just after Christmas 2009 where three points were crucial to keep their title hopes alive.

The Gunners were struggling to break down a resilient Villa side and had to call on their captain Cesc Fabregas to come off the bench and make a difference. The Spaniard won a free kick 25 yards from goal and stepped up to curl a brilliant effort up and over the wall and into the top corner.

You know those free kicks where you just know a 'keeper is getting no where near it? Well that was one of them as Brad Friedel could do nothing about the Spaniard's effort and what a wonderful sight that was!
