Arsenal's 2024/25 season is now complete and with no silverware once again it's safe to say it was a disappointing one considering the initial expectations. However, it wasn't all doom and gloom with the Gunners putting on a number of good performances throughout.
A third consecutive second-place finish, a run to the semi-finals of the Champions League for just the third time in the club's history, and a spot in the last four of the Carabao Cup. On paper, it wasn't the worst campaign and to have managed each of those competition finishes, Arsenal had to have played some decent games over the past 10 months.
The Gunners put on some outstanding performances throughout the campaign and there are five games that stood out as their best of the 2024/25 season.
5 best Arsenal games of the 2024/25 season
5. Tottenham 0-1 Arsenal

Just four gameweeks into the season, Arsenal travelled to bitter rivals Tottenham and had to do so without captain Martin Odegaard and key midfielder Declan Rice.
The Gunners put in a brilliant defensive performance to keep out a dominant Spurs side that looked desperate to secure their first north London derby win in two years.
A tense first half saw Jurrien Timber rile up the opposition and their supporters with a feisty challenge on Pedro Porro with Kai Havertz being denied an opener.
Just under 20 minutes into the second half, Gabriel Magalhaes played a key part in starting the 'Dark Arts FC' accusations when he rose highest to score with a bullet header that won the game.
A victory at the home of their biggest rivals without two key players and spending a lot of the game under the cosh, Arsenal had to be proud of their early season performance against Tottenham.
4. Sporting 1-5 Arsenal

Coming out of a mid-season rut, Arsenal faced an in-form Sporting Lisbon side that had just lost manager Ruben Amorim to Manchester United, but boasted the ever-dangerous Viktor Gyokeres up top.
The Gunners did not whimper at the Estádio José Alvalade stadium and put the Portuguese champions to the sword with a clinical performance.
Tap-ins from Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz put Arsenal two goals to the good inside 20 minutes before Gabriel headed in from a corner to make it 3-0 at half-time.
Sporting pulled a goal back just after the break, but the Gunners restored their three-goal lead soon after with a Bukayo Saka penalty with Leandro Trossard putting the seal on a five-star performance late on.
Arsenal managed to travel to one of Europe's most lethal sides and came away with a very convincing win to put them back on track in the Champions League.
3. PSV 1-7 Arsenal

In the round of 16 of the Champions League, Arsenal were handed a tough tie with a trip to PSV Eindhoven for the first leg.
It would be an understatement to say the Gunners made light work of a lacklustre PSV side that had only recently had a two-year home unbeaten run ended.
Jurrien Timber headed his side in front before Ethan Nwaneri doubled the advantage. Makeshift striker Mikel Merino showed quick feet to make it three, but hopes of a clean sheet were eradicated when Noa Lang netted a penalty on the stroke of half-time.
PSV's chances of a comeback were stopped immediately after the break when Martin Odegaard pounced on a loose clearance to fire in a fourth. Riccardo Calafiori played Leandro Trossard in with an intricate ball with the Belgian lobbing Walter Benitez for five.
Odegaard fired in an effort for long-range for his second and his side's sixth on the night before Calafiori did his best striker impression with a brilliant finish in the late stages. Arsenal's dominant win at PSV put them in a very comfortable position to progress to the quarter-finals ahead of the second leg.
2. Arsenal 5-1 Man City

As Arsenal looked to keep up with league leaders Liverpool, they welcomed Manchester City to the Emirates Stadium to begin February and managed a win no one would have expected.
Just two minutes in, a loose pass by the City defence allowed Kai Havertz to square for Martin Odegaard to tap into the net. The visitors levelled it up through Erling Haaland soon after half-time, but Thomas Partey's deflected effort restored the Gunners' lead moments later.
Myles Lewis-Skelly got revenge for his mocking by Haaland in the previous fixture when he skipped past City's defence before firing a strike past Stefan Ortega. He celebrated in the perfect way by copying the Norway striker's famous meditation pose.
Kai Havertz ended a swift counterattack with a brilliant effort into the far corner to make it four with Ethan Nwaneri putting the seal on victory with a sensational strike from range late on.
It didn't mean much in terms of the season's outcome, but to see Arsenal win so convincingly against the side that had bettered them over the past two seasons really was great.
1. Arsenal 5-1 Real Madrid (both legs)

With only five games on this list, but two legs against Real Madrid to choose from, it only felt right to include both at the top.
Arsenal faced the Champions League holders in the quarter-finals and many fans and pundits had written them off before a ball was even kicked. Oh how wrong they were to do so.
The Gunners defeated Madrid with ease in the first leg at the Emirates Stadium. Two moments of free kick magic from Declan Rice had them cruising before Mikel Merino ensured they took a 3-0 lead to the Santiago Bernabeu.
La Remontada was a phrase that was shouted by many in the week leading up to the second leg in Madrid with plenty expecting Arsenal to crumble. Once again, they were incredibly wrong.
Mikel Arteta's side took a second-half lead through Bukayo Saka, who made amends for an earlier penalty miss with a brilliant lobbed finish, but Vinicius Junior levelled it on the night and give his side the tiniest ounce of hope. The Gunners defended well throughout the closing stages before Gabriel Martinelli made a great run and finished brilliantly to snatch the win in stoppage time, making it 5-1 on aggregate.
Arsenal's win in both legs against Madrid showed just how brilliant they can be and that they can defeat anyone on the day.
